Data transparency
What appears in FindCareUS, where it comes from, and what it does not mean.
A directory is useful only when its limits are clear.
This page explains our public data sources, how listings are presented and how sponsored content is identified.
01 · Source
Public NPPES records
Core provider records are derived from the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES) public data made available by CMS.
02 · Processing
Structured for search
We organize names, taxonomies, organization type and practice locations so people can search the directory in practical language.
03 · Maintenance
Controlled updates
Imports are validated and processed in controlled batches.
A listing may not reflect a source change immediately.
What a listing means
A profile means that a provider or organization appears in the underlying public data.
It is not a clinical endorsement, quality score, insurance-network confirmation, availability promise or confirmation that a provider is accepting new patients.
Accuracy and corrections
Public registries can be incomplete, delayed or outdated.
Patients should verify the practice address, phone number, specialty, licensure, services and appointment availability directly with the provider.
The authoritative route for correcting an NPPES record is the source registry; FindCareUS can review presentation issues after that record has been updated.
Search ranking
Ordinary directory results are matched using the search phrase, provider name, category or taxonomy, and requested or available location signals.
We do not sell placement within ordinary results.
When no exact match exists, the directory may offer clearly explained nearby alternatives.
Sponsored placements
Paid placements are visibly labeled “Sponsored.” Advertising does not change the underlying public provider record and does not remove ordinary results.
Sponsored links may be measured for delivery, clicks and placement performance.
Directory measurement
To understand whether search is useful, FindCareUS may record a search phrase, the result or advertisement shown, its feed position and a resulting click.
This information is used in aggregate to improve search quality, measure directory performance and report advertising activity.
